A Circle of Twelve seeks to support individual men and boys around the planet to empower themselves, their families, and their communities to live healthy, balanced and fulfilling lives.

In Spring 2008, White Buffalo Calf Woman – the great Native American prophet of peace – appeared to one of our members and called for the formation of A Circle of Twelve.  Twelve men, of different backgrounds, to meet monthly in support of each other and
with the mission to help empower individual men and boys around the planet. 

In September 2008, the manifestation of this vision took place. 
A Circle of Twelve includes businessmen, creative artists, teachers,
healing practitioners, students and musicians.  Sons and fathers. 
Warriors and lovers.  The members of A Circle of Twelve gather monthly and create a sacred space in which to open our hearts not only to each other but to men and boys around the planet.  We identify potential award recipients one at a time – people who have touched our hearts with their personal stories and who demonstrate a commitment both to their own growth and to helping the communities in which they live.

 

As we extend empowerment support for our recipients’ dreams and aspirations, our own worldview has expanded.  We have been blessed to meet brothers and sisters from all walks of life whose courage, humor, wisdom and compassion remind us that Spirit lives within each of us and that giving to another is sometimes the greatest gift we can give to ourselves.  And we have begun to glimpse the possibility of redefining traditional power-driven concepts of masculinity, helping instead to promote a vision of manhood based in mutuality and mentorship, recognition and respect, gratitude and generosity of spirit.
